Free Woodworking Plans and Projects
Here is a single page showcasing all of my free woodworking plans and projects. If a plan has a feature article that describes all of the building details, the caption will be a link to that article. Below each plan is the link to the printable PDF file. For most of these projects, you can modify the length, height, and width dimensions to scale up or down to fit your needs. Check back often! As new projects are discussed, this will be the central location for all of the plans. To build these projects, at a minimum, you're going to need a 10" table saw, a 3/8" drill, either cordless or a regular electric drill, and either an orbital sander, or a belt sander. If you decide to use a ceramic tile inlay, you might want a tile saw. These links will take you to current eBay auctions where you can get great discounts! Pawn shops, flea markets, and your local classified ads are also good sources for tools at great prices - or you can go to Lowe's, Home Depot, or Sears and bring them home now for a price!
These first projects are for a simple end table and pocket table. They are very basic and easy to build. You choose your materials and finish - they are sturdy enough for years of use. Rectangular End Table | Triangular Pocket Table |
This next set of plans are for a coffee table and corner table. Once again, they are basic and easy to build, and with nice grained materials and finish - they are very attractive.
The following two projects step it up a few notches to include inserts for ceramic-tile and stone, and for a full sized patio table with tapered legs.
Here is the culmination of projects using the double lap- joint. This Twin-Bed is sturdy, attractive, and easy to build. It can be modified to build any size bed frame - just change the lengths and widths!
This a another set of free woodworking plans! This wonderfully tall cabinet is a power-house storage solution. At nearly 8' high by 3' wide and 1' deep, it had six doors and six shelves spaced 14" apart. It has a whooping 20 cubic feet of storage. I developed this design for my workshop, and oh my, they worked! I used cabinet grade 3/4" plywood, but after building them, it's clear they would make gorgeous pantries with stain and varnish! This cabinet requires two sheets of precious 3'4" plywood. I'm supplying my original "sketched" cut plans. You can build every bit of the cabinet with two sheets if you follow my cut-plans. You'll still need five extra 8' lengths of clear-grained 1x2's for the face trim, but the main structure can be built with only two sheets of really high quality plywood!
Coming Soon! Once again, check back often! As new projects are discussed, the free plans will be added here.
