These Spring Ideas will spruce up your home and gardens, easy and cheap!

I think you'll like my spring ideas. After a long, dreary winter, I'm ready for summer fun! These ideas are easy to do and fairly cheap. What I like best about these projects is that you'll see immediate progress - guaranteed!

I don't know about you, but in my section of North West Florida, I experienced one of the harshest winters ever recorded for our area. I lost EVERY ornamental flower and shrub, and to make it worse, they were replaced by molds and weeds. My house and grounds were a disaster!

What a shame! Last fall, things were finally starting to look good around my home. My new Crepe Myrtle's had spectacular fall foliage, only matched in color and exuberance by my potted Croatains and Hibiscus!

I want to show a series of photos of what I found on my return after a long and weary road trip - I neglected to instruct my lovely wife to bag all of the delicate foliage for me if the temperatures dropped to freezing!

That's horrible! But look what I did in a few of weeks to recover my home and gardens. These spring ideas work! Thet're cheap and easy. First we've got to clean-up the exterior. For my home, it's a monumental task with all of my brick, patio stones, and raw concrete.

Mostly, I wore a respirator and attacked the mold and weeds! Honestly!

I'm going to show in great detail how to eradicate three types of mold and fungus (SAFELY!!!) from brick, paver's, patio stone, and raw concrete; as a bonus, it kill's weeds that "Roundup," at $20 gallon, won't touch! All of that power for less than $2 per gallon!

It's easy to find this magic elixir if you know where to look! If you've ever used Clorox to clean your bathtub of mold and mildew, you'll appreciate what this incredible 7-1/2% chlorine solution does to "Rust Mold", "Green Algae", and "Black Mold." No pressure washer can clean live mold and leave your stonework intact - yet this will!

Don't get me wrong, we're going to dilute this to less than a 3% chlorine solution. I don't recommend this for inside the home - it's pungent! Although it's harsh, it's effective! If you think your brick or concrete looks dirty, chances are - it's MOLD!

Now take a look at those earlier sections around my house and see what a couple of weeks of effort can do! It's more than mold removal, I did have to plant new foliage and inaugurate new landscaping ideas!

These spring ideas extend beyond cleaning, (vastly important for general look) to plantings and landscaping ideas. Since I am the one responsible for outside tasks, mowing the grass is nothing but a necessary evil! I'd much rather be fishing or building furniture! These spring ideas extend to a fresh look at the ergonomics of using my self-propelled lawn mower.

It could to take 30 min. to mow the ridiculously small section at the front of my home between the driveway and front door! I was trapped between brick - either the short stub wall, or the face of the house. This season's, Spring Ideas was to solve that problem once-and-for-all! My landscaping ideas did just that! Now I have enough clearance to turn the handle and mow in a continuous, radius past the stub-wall and home face. Last week, it took 2-1/2 minuets to mow what use to take 30 minuets! That's spring ideas that last into summer, fall, and winter!

This season's landscaping ideas solved a far graver problem. There's no gutter along the side edge of the roof. I get between 50 and 100 inches of rain annually. Many times, I will get deluged! I have been amazed by a 15 minuet thunder-buster that dropped 6 inches! That's 24" per hour! For this season, my spring idea was to strategically place landscaping timbers under the roof's "drip line." It works! Now the waterfall hits the middle of the landscaping timbers and bounces away instead of carving a trench, or washing away the cypress mulch.

Please take what you like from this section, modify what you see and create your own clean and functional gardens! But if you do, please send photos and notes of your spring ideas for me to publish here!

Summer's coming! - Lets get started!

I hope you enjoy each of these spring ideas, and I hope you'll take something away useful to You!, for your home and gardens this Spring!

First and foremost, we've got to attack the brick, patio stone, and raw concrete around the property. Here's my experiences, recommendations, and caution for mold removal!

Here's a great spring idea - build clean simple garden beds from landscaping timbers, mulch, ornamental plantings, and flowering shrubs to beautify, and ease maintenance chores! Landscaping Ideas

It's looking pretty nice up front with all of the new beds, plants and flowers. Let's see if we can tie everything together with Window Boxes

Lucius, ornamental plants can't survive a hard freeze, and plants in pots leak soil and nutrients that encourage mold. These gardening ideas are all about pots! From double potting your plants for next winter, to bottomless pots, and how to redirect overflow away from brick and stone, and more!
