Do It Yourself Projects hide behind every corner of your home and property!
Welcome to my do it yourself projects site! I want to show you some of the home improvement projects I've done, inside and out, that add beauty, improve maintenance, resolve long standing issues, and sometimes, are just fun to do. I believe anyone can do good work and I've dedicated this site helping you get the results you want for your projects.
You can click on any of the photos throughout this site for a larger view.
One of the things I'll talk about is planning. On larger projects, a cut plan, unlike a dimension plan, can save you lots of time, material, and money. All it takes is graph paper, a pencil, and lots and lots of persistence. I'm not kidding about the savings - the cherry cabinetry I built would have used 5 additional sheets of 3/4" ply at $75 per sheet without good analysis! If you're buying material from The Home Depot, or Lowe's Home Improvement Center, once you understand your cut plan - they'll do it for you at no charge. I have a good shop; but I'm getting old. Wrestling a sheet of plywood through the table saw is hard WORK, let them do it for you!
As an added bonus, I'll show you how to build accessories for your most important tools that make operations safer, more accurate, and more repeatable. You'll see what I've seen, and what I had to invent!
If I can, I will point out where you can buy material, hardware, and tools at better prices delivered to you for your own home projects. Speaking of tools, I'll talk a lot about the tools I use, both minor and major, and why I told my wife I had to buy a real table saw to build her cherry cabinetry, and why I had to buy a 12" chop-saw before I could start on our gazebo!
The types of do it yourself projects I'll talk about are what you can expect around your home: landscaping, gardening, building or refinishing cabinetry, building simple furniture, laying ceramic tile, wood or engineered laminate flooring, hanging doors, blinds, and wall murals, mirrored walls, patching sheet rock, tearing out walls, building walls, installing base boards, cove and crown molding, garage conversions, and many others.
Are you ready? Here is a photo gallery of some of my do it yourself projects. Guess what, they never end - there's always something to improve, fix, or build! Come back often - more projects will be added.

If I get enough "votes" for a particular project, I'll move it up the queue. Otherwise, if you've contacted me, and I've assembled my plans, and construction notes, I'll send them to you early!
